Turkey Sausage Cornbread Dressing
#Ingredients
- 1 batch cornbread
- 1 package sausage (16 oz)
- 1 tsp salt
- 8 tbsp butter
- 5 eggs
- 1 qt (32 oz) stock
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2-3 stalks finely chopped celery
- 3-4 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 1 tbsp rosemary
- 1 tbsp thyme
#Directions
- Make a batch of cornbread & crumple in bowl.
- Brown the sausage.
- Brown onion & celery with oil, season with salt & pepper to taste.
- Add thyme & rosemary & garlic at the end with onion & celery.
- Add cooked veggies to bowl of cornbread.
- Melt 8 tbsp butter & stir with eggs in bowl.
- Add tsp salt sprinkling throughout.
- Add butter & egg mixture to the cornbread & stir.
- Add stock to cornbread mixture until wet but not soggy.
#Cooking
Cooking time largely depends on how thick the layer of dressing is. 1-1.5 inch thickness should cook in about 45 min. Thicker will require longer. Temp in the middle should be ~180 deg.
- Grease a pan.
- 350 deg - 45 min.
- Temp in the middle should reach 180 deg.
