Flan
Use a flanera for best results. Work the sugar fast because once it’s melted it hardens fast and stops flowing. Also, keep a close eye on the sugar because it goes from brown to burnt quickly.
#Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
#Directions
- Heat sugar in a pot over medium heat until the sugar melts and is a brown caramel color. Take off the heat and pour into the bottom of the flanera. It should coat the bottom in an even layer.
- Add all other ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Don’t over blend, which will add air to the mixture and there will be bubbles in the final flan.
- Add blended mixture to flanera.
- Place flanera in a water bath with water half way up the sides.
- Bake 350 deg 1 hr 15 min.
