#Ingredients

  • Refrigerated Pie Crust
  • Jam
  • Water
  • Large egg

Slice & Spread

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  2. Roll 1 pie crust out on a cutting board and slice a plus sign to create 4 equal quarters
  3. Slice each quarter in half to create 8 triangle pieces
  4. Do Steps 2-3 again with the other pie crust
  5. Lay 8 triangular pieces on the lined baking sheet (these are your bottom pieces)
  6. Spread a spoonful of jam in the middle of each bottom shape, leaving some space around the edges

Seal & Poke

  1. Pour water into a small bowl. Use your fingers to dab water around the edges of each bottom shape
  2. Lay the other 8 top shapes over the jam-covered bottom shapes
  3. Push down on the edges of your tarts to seal the tops and bottoms together
  4. Press on the edges with the teeth of a fork
  5. Use the fork to poke a few holes in each of the jam tarts
  6. Beat 1 large egg in a small bowl with the fork. Brush the egg over each tart

Bake

Bake the tarts for 12-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown

Icing (Optional)

  1. Combine 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 2 tsp milk, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp jam
  2. Whisk until smooth
  3. Leave the jam tarts to cool for 5-10 minutes on a plate
  4. Spoon icing on top. If you want, add sprinkles, crushed nuts, or chopped dried fruit to decorate them
